Something happened recently that made me stop and think about how important it is to help others, and how proud I am to work for a company that values this as well.
Tuesday nights in West Seneca are garbage night. This past Tuesday was not unlike any other. I began to make dinner and my husband started taking out the garbage. He placed our garbage cans and our lovely yellow recycle bin by the curb, along with our five-year-old grill. Which, from our point of view, was ready for the trash. Many of our friends and family members who have been over for a cookout might tell you the same thing!
About an hour after the trash had been taken out, a white mini-van pulled up. A man with a noticeable limp got out and began to dismantle our rusted, old grill.
He seemed to have found a treasure in what we considered trash. The man had a vision of renovating this beat up, old grill. What was useless to us was something that he could use. It just really made me stop and think about how lucky most of us really are...
