Food trucks have long been embracing the power of social media. In a way, social media is the fuel that keeps the food trucks going. Very practically, our four-wheeled friends tweet their whereabouts for the day. Although at Travers Collins we pride ourselves on memorizing the Lloyd’s Taco Truck schedule, in the off chance we lose track of every other Wednesday, a friendly Twitter reminder ensures us a coveted spot in the local food truck’s line.

My wife and I were flipping through our options on Netflix last night, and stumbled across season three of “Celebrity Rehab.” Something dark in our hearts compelled us to press play, and within 10 minutes we were watching country singer Mindy McCready writhing on the floor, in the throes of a withdrawal-induced seizure. The scene cut between a medium shot and a close-up of the proceedings, meaning there were at least two cameramen in the room who stood by and filmed instead of helping.

We're all familiar with this everyday situation: you're at your local Sonic *cough*Binghamton*cough* and you hear an eerie moaning and rattling of chains at the other end of the parking lot. Is there a g-g-g-ghost out there? Oh boy. You put down your Coney and reach for your phone. But with the Ghostbusters tied up in contract disputes and Mystery Incorporated busy investigating that haunted amusement park, you do the next best thing and call the cops. Hilarity Ensues.

After just a few days on Google+, I’m really impressed. The new social media site is Google’s answer of the widely popular Facebook, and I think it has a lot to offer users.
